Green Highland was established in 2007. It was founded to utilise the technical expertise and knowledge of delivering energy projects to help unlock a new wave of hydropower projects. Hydropower is a vital technology in our journey to net zero and helps empower local communities and provide vital renewable power for industry and our homes.
Initially developing small projects in the Highlands of Scotland, we quickly began to tackle the most challenging of hydropower projects. Through developing, financing, constructing, operating and maintaining projects, we grew into a business that can deliver at every step of a hydropower development. We are proud of the role we have played in all our projects, from our first, the Roroyere Hydro Scheme, through to the River Leven Hydro Scheme, which became the 50th Hydro project we have delivered.
The value we add has been demonstrated by the number of significant and high-profile investors and project partners that choose to work alongside us. These range from large-scale utilities, industrial companies, government, private landowners, and a wide range of investment funds. We have established a leading reputation and are trusted with the operations, maintenance and management of a large portfolio of assets.
Today, we are proud to be a Voith company. The Voith Group is a global technology company. Founded in 1867, the company today has around 20,000 employees, sales of € 4.3 billion and locations in over 60 countries worldwide and is thus one of the larger family-owned companies in Europe.
Voith Hydro, a division of the Voith Group, is a leading full-line supplier as well as trusted partner for equipping hydro plants all over the world. It's portfolio of products and services covers the entire life cycle and all major components for large and small hydro plants, from generators, turbines, pumps and automation systems, right through to spare parts, maintenance and training services, and digital solutions for intelligent hydropower.
Our story sets out why we are perfectly placed to take our years of experience and expertise to operate and maintain hydropower projects of every size, and at every stage, around the world.
